Yay I did it! Normal people music! Although, some might argue that Kate Bush isn't exactly normal people music. But hey, at least it's not video-game music, am I right?!
Love this album so much. I'm not even sure which specifics to geek out on, or at least where to start. The titular track seems as good a place as any; I admittedly first heard Hounds of Love as covered by the Futureheads. and it was some time before I learned it was originally a Kate Bush song... which of course just made me like it even more, as it then became my gateway to the rest of the album. Then we go right into The Big Sky which... I really loved as soon as I heard it, but I love even more having put some particular life experiences behind me. Too vague? Let's just say it safely resides in numerous playlist of mine with titles like "Power" and "Lady-Hawk" (not the movie)
I'm gonna skip ahead to Hello Earth because I CAN'T HOLD MYSELF BACK. It's an incredible piece from beginning to end that moves in and out of some pretty crazy and unexpected phrases. There's a borderline Gregorian chant after the first chorus, and then again before the outro... in a song that's on a rock album. So... there's that. That's pretty cool and totally up my alley.
I could go on forever, but I'll cap myself with those three gems. The whole album's great though!
