I want to promise that this will be the last video game centric "What I'm listening to..." post but, that would very definitely be a lie!
The whole reason I chose this as a blog topic was because I'm always listening to something, so maintaining it doesn't really distract from my real writing (you know; music) and it's definitely opening my eyes to just how much I love screen music.
Now the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is no longer a new game but I've only just gotten around to playing it (hey, there are a lot of AAA games and not all of them are good) and I'll be totally honest, I was a fan of the soundtrack long before I finally began Geralts' quest to find his long lost adopted daughter. Because, it's awesome? Very awesome. These compositions are so visceral that in my opinion they add to the authenticity of the war-ravaged lands the game takes place in - and it already feels pretty damn authentic. It feels like a genre that belongs to that world.
So enjoy! It's scary and intense and also serene and beautiful!
