MOAR VIDEO GAME MUSIC.
I played this game a few years ago now and was absolutely floored by its' music. The use of space in the quiet piano pieces was something I had never experienced in a video game; I had been used to one high energy MIDI track written to loop endlessly without the player really noticing. This music is something else. It's immersive. It's evocative. It takes its' time. It's heartbreaking.
The game was made my Ubisoft Montreal and they hired local songwriter Coeur de Pirate to write the music (which hi Ubi TO w'sup how's it goin'?) which is... pretty damn cool. I hadn't had a console for a few years before playing this game and was very happy to hear that not only do games barely use any MIDI tracks anymore, but that developers were making smart creative choices like that was very inspiring.
Well, that's enough out of me. I will leave you with my favourite track from the game (spoiler alert it's the sad one)
